Monsters and Misfits
Introduction:
John Wayne Gacy earned the nickname the "Killer Clown". Due to dressing up in his alter ego named "Pogo". He had a past with abuse from his dad which scarred him. He also grew up with a heart condition that kept him isolated in school. So neglect was something he experienced at a young age.
John would abduct, sexual assault and torment his victims, and then murder them. He had a custom crawl space in his home that he turned into a cemetery for his victims. He killed 33 teenage boys/young men. He was convicted of 12 death sentences and 21 normal death sentences. Later on, he was executed in prison with the lethal injection. This topic is important because he corresponds monsters and misfits with serial killers and psychology. I chose this topic after hearing that John Wayne Gacy was the real inspiration for the film IT. I believe the most monstrous thing with serial killers is their ability to blend in with society and not be seen as a threat. |
